J McDonald is an artist and designer based in Brooklyn, NY. He began his furniture practice in 2018, bringing together backgrounds in sculpture and high-end fabrication to create other worldly works whose conceptual and formal underpinnings are executed through a deep understanding of material and process. Working in the space between art and architecture, between sculpture and furniture, his work incorporates ideas around nature, space, tactility, intuition, and the human condition to inspire unique constructions that examine and redefine our perception and experience of the world, ourselves, and the relationship between the two.
